Description
This highly bolt-resistant variety produces beautiful heads with striking reddish-brown leaves that offer a particularly rich and aromatic flavour.
Our Tips:
- Ideal for Home Gardeners: A reliable and rewarding variety for the hobby grower.
- Suitable for both direct outdoor sowing and starting indoors for transplanting.
- Sowing & Planting: For outdoor cultivation, start seeds from February (plant out from March). For greenhouse growing, start from December (plant out from late January).
- Germination temperature: 15 to 20°C. Note: If temperatures exceed 20°C, the seeds may germinate poorly or not at all.
- Bolting: Going to seed is a sign of stress - usually caused by excessive heat, dry soil, or overcrowding (planting too closely).
