• The red maple is originally native to eastern North America.

Our Tips:

• Place seeds in the freezer for three weeks before sowing and then soak them in room-temperature water for 24 hours to improve germination
• Cover the cultivation containers with film and provide them with holes so that the soil does not dry out
• Remove the film for two hours every two to three days to prevent mold growth
• Keep the potting soil moist but not wet
• Ideal germination temperature: 20°C
• Loves a sunny location
• Copes with many soil conditions - tolerates both drought and moist locations
• Shallow-rooted - roots spread wide but rarely go deeper than 35 cm
• Overwintering outdoors is possible - protect young trees from frost by mounding up leaves
