Saflax Organic Chilli "Piccante Cilieglia"

This heirloom variety is also known as 'Baccio de Satana', which translates to 'Satan's Kiss' and already provides a clear indication of the heat level of these chilies. They grow to about the size of cherry tomatoes and ripen from green to red.

Our tips:

• For a harvest in the first year, start cultivation between January and March
• To improve germination, soak the seeds in room-temperature water for 24 hours before sowing
• Moisten the potting substrate daily with a spray bottle after sowing
• Cover the container with cling film to protect the substrate from drying out; remove the film every two days for two hours to prevent mould growth
• Place the cultivation container in a bright spot with a temperature of around 22 to 30°C
• Remove the cover after germination and place in a slightly cooler location
• Prick out after the second pair of leaves has formed
• Place outdoors during the day from 5°C onwards to harden off
• From mid-May, transplant to a sunny location in a garden bed or pot
• Only water when the top layer of substrate has dried out
• Only fertilise when the first buds appear
• If the plant overwinters in a bright location, continue care as usual
