Saflax Washingtonia Fan Palm

This fan palm exudes pure California vibes. With its upright growth habit, slender silhouette and bright green fan-shaped leaves, it is extremely decorative and a wonderful enahncement to any garden.

Our tips:

• Roughen seeds with sandpaper before sowing and soak in lukewarm water overnight to improve germination
• Cover the cultivation container with cling film and provide air holes to protect the soil from drying out
• Remove the film every two to three days for about two hours to prevent mold formation
• Place the cultivation container in a bright and warm location at 20 to 25°C
• Keep the soil surface moist but not wet
• Ensure a sunny location at 20 to 25°C
• Choose a taller pot or tub, as the vertically growing roots need plenty of space
• Repot into a larger container every two years
• Water generously, but avoid waterlogging; the soil surface should dry out, but remain moist deep down
• fertilise with liquid palm fertiliser every one to two weeks during the growth phase
• Overwinter in a bright place at 5 to 10°C
