Application Instructions

• Setup: Place the device in the area where marten activity is suspected or needs to be prevented.
• Power: The unit requires 3 x LR14 (Alkaline) batteries. Unscrew the back panel and insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/–).
• Operation: Set the switch to "ON". A blue LED will begin to flash, indicating the device is active. If the LED stops flashing, the batteries need replacing.
• Battery Life: Batteries typically last approx. 5 months, depending on quality and ambient temperature.

Optimising Placement

• Line of Sight: Position the device so the speaker has an unobstructed path. Ultrasonic waves cannot penetrate solid materials like walls, roofs, floors, or furniture.
• Avoid Soft Furnishings: Soft materials such as curtains or insulation will dampen the sound waves; place the unit in an open area for maximum range.
• Mounting: Ensure the device is securely fixed using the provided cable ties or screws (not included).
• Indoor/Garage Use: Place the unit as low as possible, near the floor, with the speaker aimed horizontally across the surface.
• Engine Bay Use: IMPORTANT: Never place the device on or near surfaces exceeding 70°C, as this will destroy the unit. Ensure it is fixed securely so it cannot interfere with moving engine parts.
• Outdoor Note: The device is not waterproof and must not be used outdoors without protection from rain.

Safety & Timing

Note for Pet Owners: Small rodents such as rabbits, guinea pigs, or hamsters are also sensitive to ultrasound. Do not use the device in the same room or adjacent rooms where these pets are kept.

• Effectiveness: While changes in marten behaviour are often immediate, in some cases, it may take 2–3 weeks for the animals to fully abandon the area.
• Human Sensitivity: In rare cases, the human ear may detect high-frequency sounds. If this occurs, relocate the device to a less-frequented area.
